Markus Molitor Wehlener Klosterberg Riesling Kabinett 2017

Description

Wehlener Klosterberg is at the heart of the Molitor vineyards, and stretches up the steep slopes to the left and right of the winery building. It is located in a side valley directly opposite Zeltingen, and faces almost due south. The 2017 Riesling Wehlener Klosterberg Kabinett (White Capsule) is a classic Mosel wine: lithe and weightless at 10% alcohol, with just a hint of sweetness that gives charm and underlines the bright fruit. The attractive nose is still a bit reductive and offers a clear, bright and crunchy slate bouquet that reflects the cooler terroir of the Klosterberg. On the palate, this is a lean, elegant, charmingly round and textured dry Kabinett with stimulating salinity and mineral purity. The finish is surprisingly long. This lean and elegant 2017 already drinks perfectly well.
