Chateau Ferran 2017
Ch teau Ferran reveals itself on tasting like a wine elegant and complex with delicate notes. Blend: 41% Merlot, 38% Petit Verdot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon Plum and terracotta aromas follow through to a medium to full body with creamy texture and beautiful fruit. Undertones of walnuts and black tea leaves. Shows polish and focus for the vintage. Drink after 2022. The 2017 Ferran is plump, juicy and quite tasty. Succulent red cherry, plum, lavender and sweet spice give this mid-weight, pliant Pessac L ognan its racy, succulent personality. The 2017 is not especially complex, but it is very, very pretty, not to mention a joy to taste. – Antonio Galloni Barrel Sample: 88-91 The 2017 Ferran contains a lot of Petit Verdot this year because of the frost-nearly 40%-when it usually usually only has about 8%. Deep garnet-purple in color, it opens with lovely black raspberries, kirsch and wild blueberry scents plus wafts of rosehip tea and pencil shavings. Medium-bodied, elegant, fresh and perfumed, it has a firm, sturdy frame, finishing on a compelling fragrant-earth note. This is very different, but very good!
